The purpose of this study is to analyze the importance of the agriculture sector in Albania as well as to identify the needs of startups in this sector.This paper is divided into four main parts. In the first part, is given a general description of the agriculture sector in Albania, highlighting the importance that this sector has in the economy and by analyzing the surface of the lands which are used for agriculture and lands which are not being used for agriculture. In the second part, is analyzed the number of enterprises operating in the agricultural sector in Albania, by performing a comparative analysis between the progress of statistics from 2014 to 2019. In the third part, the number of new enterprises registered in the agricultural sector from 2014 to 2019 is analyzed, explaining the reasons for the volatility of these statistics. n the fourth part, the state of the agriculture sector in Albania is analyzed showing from the practical side how the situation of this sector was perceived during the implementation of the Agro Challenge project as well as analyzing the answers to the questionnaire, which has been distributed throughout the entire implementation of this project. The data used in this part are primary data regarding the situation and the needs of startups in this sector. While secondary data have been used to understand the macro situation of agriculture in general.
